2. How had the Jews to whom Paul was writing begun to understand circumcision? What was the intended significance given to circumcision by God?

3. When you get caught up in sin, what kind of thoughts and feelings do you have? What do you think/feel about yourself and about God?

4. How does God’s grace in the gospel help us to counteract some of our worst thoughts?

5. What should be our motivation for living godly lives? Are you ever motivated to do good simply because of your reputation with other people? How has that affected you negatively?
